Truing APC Props and drilling prop hubs?

Mounted a new prop last night - APC 16.5-12W, and when I screwed it onto the crankshaft, I noticed it wasn't turning true. Upon inspection, I discovered that the hole in the hub was not centered. It looked ok from the drive washer side but the front of the hub was off by a good 1/16". Obviously this prop wouldn't track true.
I always ASSUMED these were molded in and were pretty accurate, so never checked them.
I opened up the front of the hub a little, without touching the rear, and let the thrust washer true up the prop. How do most of you true props?
Also, I just got the Tru-turn TT-813-A double jam nut spinner adapter for YS 140 engines. I always used the standard 814 double jam nut in the past, but the 813 requires a 1/2" hole be drilled into the front of the prop hub (at least part way). What's the best way to do this?
Thanks,
Bob
