MK control horns

Troy,
We're sending you the Venus 40! It's all "HOT PINK" on the bottom. Actually, it turns out that it is the easiest color (for me) to see, and on a smaller plane it is needed.

Hot pink! -- I just call mine RED and just dare anyone at the field to say otherwise!!!!!! :-)

Or do the whole plane that color...

One guy was giving me a hard time so I told him that when you fly a pattern plane you need to see how much the elevator horn is moving, hence the high-vis clevices. I even flew a demo flight to spoof him even more... the next week he showed up with fluorescent ailerons a elevators on his Cub and swears by them. (VBG)

Ref the horns I have found that the 1 "horns are good on the ailerons and the 3/4' are right for the elevator, and two 1'2" horns back-to-back for the rudder. You also get excellent rudder centering using MK ball race clevice on all four ends of the pull-pull wires.

The servo arms that I tend to use are Hanger-9 mediums 2mm threaded holes. With the above aileron and elevator horns I use the outer hole on the aileron and the next one in on the elevator..

  Regards,

  Eric.

I use the Med ones on both elevator and Ailerons.......I have tried the large and they stick out a bit but are better for the control and centering of the servo as the moment arm is helped being longer on the control surface......I find the Med ones work great....

I also use the 2mm Clevis links, and drill and tap them out for 4-40. I don't like the 2.5mm ones they are hot pink....I just guess I don't have a good handle on Female side! Jenny says the Hot pink ones look cool cause you could see them while you're flyin'

And some guys wonder why I'm weird.......I guess I got lucky she is interested in how my linkage looks!

For those of you using MK control horns on 2M planes, what size are you using on your elevators and ailerons?

    Medium (3/4") or Large (1")?

    Thanks,
    Keith
