MK control horns

Never really had problems with dirt and oil....The clevis devices cover both sides of the ball bearing races...but on the MK Bellcrank the race is partially exposed....I'm not the neatest in keeping my plane clean every single flight but I do clean it up at the end of the day and check for such things.....

Doesn't seem to be an issue in several years worth of using them...I fly mostly from pavement so ita cleaner than grass....

Brake Cleaner sounds like a good idea......I have never tried it...and would be concerned with the plastic and some deteriation.......Jerry have you used it before on these MK links....?

If Jerry has used it I would trust it...He is pretty detailed and takes good care of his stuff, good one for advice...at least in my book.

Keith,

Spray a small amount of brake parts cleaner in the bearings (using
the little plastic tube) after each flying session and they'll stay
nice and clean. The cleaner flushes out the grit & oil and
evaporates completely away in less than a minute. I've been using it
for a couple of years now with no ill effect on the fittings or the
paint/monokote next to it that usually gets caught in the crossfire.
I also use it to clean the tailwheel assembly. It's inexpensive and
it works great.

Jerry
