MessageYou don't want to get the battery below 1.15v per cell. That works out to 9.2v on a tx and 4.6v on a 4-cell rx pack. At this level, you have a short time before the cells quickly drop to zero volts! That's why you stop!

How low do you folks take them before you stop flying? An Futaba-sponsored pilot in my area takes his 9z down to the low voltage alarm before he changes batteries.. Not as cycling, mind you, but in flight. I've seen him walk off of the flight line with TX beeping low battery... I have never had the courage to keep a plane in the air past about 9.3 V. I think it starts beeping at about 8.6? What's a generally accepted cutoff?

Just to add to Tony's info. A good 1100 mah battery in the ZAP will drop to about 9.7 pretty quickly, however it will stay at 9.7 to 9.6 for a long time. This is still more than you really need.
