Power outage in NY city and state.

In the same vein, I look at the water towers around here, (Greensboro,
NC) and consider just what would happen if we lost power for long.
While there's water in the towers, it sure doesn't get up there by
magic.  And, while I've got a well, the pump works on electricity.  I've
been thinking about a standby generator to at least power some of the
house for essentials.
Think about trying to buy gas to get out of town; no electricity to pump
it.
We've sure become a technological society.
