Electric Pattern Planes........

The Airborne Models planes can be converted, obviously, but they might not
be the best choice. Note that Kyle's Zen 50 conversion weighs 7.5 lb. Kind
of portly for a .40-.50 sized ship. Might be better with LiPos, but I'm
thinking the larger airframes would convert better, since there is more wing
to carry the weight. A built up balsa kit would be ideal, since
removal/substitution of excess heavy wood, and other lightening techniques
could be used while building.
Those ARFs are built for IC, and weigh more, and not a lot can be done about
it, vs. a balsa kit.  OTOH, the GP Venus has been successfully converted by
many, since it is light for an ARF.
