Best battery choice?

I tried 1100 a few years ago and now am using 4 cell 1700mah for receiver.
1100mah for radio.
Plus, I carry a spare receiver pack (1700) in my radio case.
There is an Alpha 4 always ready to charge & discharge.

I never tried other types of batteries such as NiMH, Li-Ion, Li-Poly etc.
Learned to fly with dry-cells in the radio & receiver.

No - There's three of us. I use a 1700 mah, 5-cell nicad pack in my
Advantage, BUT I do have a 1600 mah, 8-cell NiMh pack in my Futaba 9Z.
I remove the transmitter pack and charge it with an FMA Supernova in
the manual pre-set mode for NiMH packs.
