Best battery choice?

Personally, I don't mind recharging NiCds after several flights. As a good
friend of mine said: "You don't expect to fly all day without refueling your
plane; why be bothered about a battery recharge?" And, I agree with Joe in that
after a finite number of flights, (requiring at most one field charge) that my
own performance is degraded; additional flying seems pointless. I see no reason
to change battery systems at this time. After I was so disappointed in a
"wonder" battery system a few years ago, I've been cautious ever since.
And, don't forget that NiCd technology hasn't been standing still, either.
I just threw away a couple of NiCd batteries that I bought just a few years ago.

They were marked "1200" and were the size of C cell dry batteries.
That said, I'd switch in a minute (well, maybe longer) if something markedly
better comes down the pike.
First, however, must come proven reliability.
(Of course, I remember when we made up our own packs by soldering 4 "C"
batteries together. Worked just fine, thanks!)
