YS 91 ac - Check valves

Anthony
I have another war story with double check valves. For several years I
thought double redundancy was great, until the valve closest to the tank
started leaking at the rubber "o" ring seal,in my Focus with YS 140L.That
problem was hard to find, since there was now 2 check valves to diagnose. The
only safety you have with 2 check valves is when one of them completely
opens up.This is not enough saftey margin to warrant the cost of two
valves.Buy two and keep one for replacement when in doubt. This is a better
safety margin.
I now just use one check valve and clean them regular.Clean them during
winter maintenance. We do winter maintenance, don't we?
