Also, you may want to use the crankshaft to align the bearings, especially
front one

Hey Bryan,
Just stick it in the oven at about 350, give it about 10-15 minutes, then
take it out...quickly...and smack it on a block of wood. The bearing will
fall out. Oh uh use a potholder or something =) Teehee.
Then tap the front one out with a 1/2" dowel.
When you put the new ones in, oil them, then heat the case again...and
freeze the bearings. Put the front bearing in first, then put the rear on
the crank and slap it in place.
Then oil the crap out of the whole thing. it's just that easy.

Subject: OS 1.40 rear bearing replacement
Does anyone have any good advice on techniques to remove the main bearing
from a OS 140. I know you need to heat it up, but I am not sure if I need to
remove the front bearing first or not? And I am not sure what temp for how
long to be able to knock out the old bearing.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
I have the new Boca stainless bearings ready to install but want to do it
right...
Thanks in advance to the group for the help
