Whether it was intentional or unintentional is hard for me
to tell.  I've taken a vow against using my superpowers
when relating to mere mortals.  ;o)

The fact is, the guy's remarks suggests that all pattern
guys hate newcomers.  That is patently false.  Some do,
some don't.  :-O
