Webra Bragging

I have owned a few YS engines in the last few years, mostly the 120 NC versions that I had on Goldberg Ultimate, as I am new to pattern, they worked well for about 100 flights or so, then they would start to lose power, etc. . . . I am "sure" it was "owner error" in myself not understanding the 4 stroker. Thus, the LAST thing I think I'll buy any time in the future will be a YS, just tooooo many headaches for me.

I must agree with Mike though on the 2 strokes, I bought a slightly used 1.40 rx from Matt that I put on my Typhoon. . . "1" flip, every time, since the day I put it on the plane. . . I absolutely love that motor. . . I think I love Matt more for giving it up ! ;-)

On my next project, a new Entropy I think it'll have the Webra engine on it. I have heard many folks sing the praise of the engine, but Matt truly loves the thing, and he Steve and Neal have not been wrong in recommendations for me so far.

My 2 cents worth,

  Ford, Chevy, OS, Webra, YS......

  If it works and you understand it and can make it perform for you, it's your engine. If you're having a bad experience, it's probably worth trying something else.

  The OS, Webra and the new DZ are all capable engines in the right hands. For instance I can't make an OS run bad to save my life, but the only 4 stroke I ever owned tore up 3 times in 4 weeks. So I'm a 2 stroke guy =P Plus is it just me, or are some of the 2 strokes unbelieveably quiet? Mine purrs, but Matt Kebabjian's is practically in stealth mode. Technology has come a long way.

  I for one am just glad we have REAL alternatives in engine selection.

      I *HAVE* to do this...  This past weekend was my first competiton use of the Webra 1.45 AAR "Redhead"....and my PastoMuff silencer....I think the guys I flew with would agree to two statements;
          1. The Webra was flawless, performed perfectly and had TONS of power and
          2. The PastoMuff, during flight, was very DEFINITELY a quiet setup. Had a bit of the Yamaha ring nnnna ningg on downlines, but I'll work on that.

      The Redhead was turnign the APC 17 x 12 Std. around 7800 on 15%....and worked JUST FINE!!! A *most excellent* motor....

    Welcome to the land of WEBRA. It is an awsome, reliable, predictable, simple to set-up and run powerplant. I do think it makes for the quietest set-up around.

    You will find the engine will turn a variety of different props at similar RPM's. It develops torque to burn.
