At our club contest this weekend, I heard some very disturbing news regarding
one manufacturer's present design Li-ion batteries. According to the source,
the internal charge/voltage regulation circuitry, fails by shorting out. The
ensuing heat from the short has caused a fire and some lost equipment.
I would advise extreme caution with SOME of these battery systems.
