The SIG has special consideration in the Board as all proposals from the SIG automatically go to the final vote.....All other non-SIG proposals go to an initial vote to weed out the junk and then if they make it to the final Vote.


This was not a Counter Proposal. It was not intended to tear down the results or the Vote of the NSRCA membership.....Rather it is a group of AMA members with no ill towards the NSRCA and all NSRCA members and advocates of the NSRCA   We presented a Sequence to the Board for consideration as an option a choice. See by us doing it outside the NSRCA the process had much less red tape. Yes we had the decisions and made them without everybody's input...TRUE! But so did the NSRCA the number was what about 200 surveys returned out of how many members...Same old problem you can't solve.....Also the results were posted as Sequence #1 was the winner How many votes for each of the 3 sequences......? Did the NSRCA look at them and say hey Sequence #1 got 80 votes and #2 and #3 got 60 each so #1 wins..... because of the way its one voice one vote setup did the NSRCA look at the numbers and say there is our winner submit it?

That's is part of flawed process when the Red Tape of the NSRCA is involved. Outside the system by a few motivated people can do as well....i shopped this around to dozens of people and got comments some made it in and some did not.....The flow of the sequence was paramount...next came the complexity, next came judging compatibility and last came the egos........Look I'm not pushing it on you! You don't like the sequence then tell your guy to vote it down.....Simple eh?


But now is the time for your input contact your Board Member and tell him how you want his vote cast!

I've seen Eric's job and don't want it. Did you guys ever see that commercial for that had the Cowboys herding cats! or better yet the one from the same company that had the plane being built in the air! That is what Eric's job is like!!!!

So get along little kitties and good job Eric. I applaud your efforts. I know its hell.....I don't think the NSRCA is the end all answer to its own problems..........I think we need a Beer!

The AMA is a large and bureaucratic organization, covering a great many
disciplines.  The only way such an organization can reasonably function
is through the use of Special Interest Groups, focused on specific
disciplines, to make recommendations specific to each.  As the
sanctioning body, the AMA will make the ultimate decision, it is true.
However, the AMA established the SIG to represent the interests of a
group of modelers, and I would expect them to pay considerable attention
to the SIG's recommendations.  NSRCA is the SIG for pattern.

A pattern flyer can take their recommendations directly to the AMA, but
they are, in effect, forming an ad-hoc SIG for pattern.  I would expect
the AMA to pay less heed to such a recommendation than to the one from
the appointed SIG.   

As an aside, NSRCA seems to do a pretty good job catering to the needs
of pattern flyers (mind you, I am a Canadian, so I only see the good
stuff, not the petty bickering).  If anyone has strong feelings about
the direction pattern is taking, assuming a leadership role in NSRCA
seems to be the right way to act on those feelings.

With reference to the specific case at hand, Voltaire said it best:  "I
disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to
say it".   

Troy is certainly entitled to put a proposal forward to AMA, and none
have the right to bear malice for his having done so.  Nor have I heard
such malice expressed.  Of course, I think he has a better chance of
getting his proposal accepted going through the NSRCA ... and would
rather see someone with all this energy joining and assuming leadership
responsibility in the NSRCA than in submitting counter-proposals to the
AMA ... but that's a personal choice.
