I think you have this backward. I believe it would take only one or two ozs. at the tail to offset an increase of 3.5 ozs for motor mount.

Could anyone give me the weight of a Hyde mount for a 1.40? The one that
requires a nose ring specifically (AR) I believe. I made a homemade soft mount
that looks great and seems sturdy but weighs in at a hefty 5.5 oz.
