YS 140 FZ conversion to L

You are correct.  The crankshaft is different.  However, the L crank has a
grove on the counter weight which requires a ring like on the old 120SC in
fact it is the same ring.  To sum up you need a L-crank and a 120SC crank
ring to convert from a 140FZ to a 140L.
