Focus Cooling

Eric H. Actually built little square channels (from balsa) from the Focus
cheek cowl openings to direct the incoming air onto the engine bearing area
to improve the cooling - more and better cooling cannot hurt but will
increase performance and life of the bearings. But as Lee said the standard
openings in the cheek area and in front of the cylinder head will work
adequately.

Been reading the discussions of bearing life and cooling / fuel
choice, etc. with great interest. I have my first Focus almost ready to
go, but now I'm curious if the scribed holes on the cowl will get enough air
to the engine.
This OS 1.60 is over twice the size of anything I've ever owned, so
I'm in new territory here. Cowl has the std. cutouts on each cheek, in
front of the cylinder, and a TT LBP spinner. Other Focii owners, should I
open it up any more? Thanks in advance, Chuck
