New Location San Jose

Wade,

Yes, we may fly at VAFB any time without restrictions. The fog sometimes
makes it tricky. Many times during the summer I get to the field at 5:00 pm
after work, and the fog starts rolling in. It can be very frustrating.
Other times the fog stays away until sunset. If we are really socked in on
a weekend, I will make a trip out to New Cuyama to get out of the fog and
share the runway with the full scale sport planes that occasionally land
there.

I'll probably get up to the SLO field for a visit again before long. I have
some end of season maintence to do on my Elan, and building has been
consuming a lot of my time lately.

  David, David,
Hi David. I have you correctly in my books but I guess even at my age I
had Hustler slip of the mind
. You are right, there are good housing in
Nipomo, Arroyo Grande,
. Maybe Tom's job would allow him access to the
base. Do you fly there anytime you want? It was great seeing you here last
year. Hope to see you again.

    Wade,

Grin. I am *David* Flynt, not Larry. Larry is the wealthy
multi-millionaire who owns Hustler Magazine.

I fly at Vandenberg. We just got our field resurfaced, so the rocks are
not a problem now. Santa Maria has a field in the works for next year if
the state and then the city approves. I have my fingers crossed.

I told Troy that a good strategy would be to live in Arroyo Grande or
Oceano, to be in the middle of work and the SLO field. Vandenberg is a
great place to practice when not foggy, however you need a permit to get on
base. My job requires me to visit the base occasionally, so I have a
permit.

    David
