I see it now, they go on top and bottom. The word "front" in the
instructions gave me a brain fart.

The plates fit OK on my Focus, using OS 1.40.
They mean put a plate on top and on bottom
of the engine box, not on front to double up on
the firewall.  Fig 15 shows a plate almost in
position on top of box.  If yours don't fit top
and bottom,    I'd cut new ones from lite ply.
