Need Focus Help

Hi Focus Assemblers--
In the instructions for the motor box, it says "Reinforce the front of the
motor box with the supplied plates (fig.15)."

The picture of fig. 15, it looks like they are putting the plate on the top
and bottom of the box. Also, the plates aren't large enough to fit on the
front plate.

So what did others do? Interpretation?
