Free Flight

Heh....I like the pic idea. But 50? I was thinking 500. Or 10+ a person....5000 =)

Yeah that article pretty much sums it up. MA is for C/L, FF and ARFs. An Arf Extra that looks like the last 1000000000 extras they printed. Oh, it has to be hovering....with some guy standing under it preferrably.

What gives?......It is the GOD syndrome. (Good Ole Days). The AMA started with FF and CL and everyone knows that FF and CL are much better and more pure than RC just like analog recordings sound better and are "warmer" than digital recordings.
Personally I always considered MA a FF-CL magazine.

What we need to do as a SIG is send in 25-50 photos of pattern planes, all at the same time for that section up front that always shows what the AMA membership is building, which somehow always ends up being a P-51, a Spitfire,an Extra 300 or some dorky-weird-flying trashcan or some such.
We also need to include a write up about the plane that is identical such as, "Pattern saved my life".

So who is with me? I have two photos to send in right now, need 48 more-everyone send it in December.

Ok, have you all read the latest Model Aviation editorial about how the free
flight and control line folks constitute 10% of all modelers and thus should
get increased attention in the magazine and other SIGs (including precision
aerobatics) will have to give up monthly columns to bimonthly ones. I
belong to three clubs with approximately 80, 120, and 160 members. Very few
may have a free flight glider/plane but have never flown it at the field,
same goes for control line. If you look at their NATs the same names
appear in most of the categories and even then the whole listing of names is
shorter than the Masters list form the pattern NATs.

  What gives .............................. ??
