support, I personally know how hard it is without more than "you can use the field for the weekend." There is also the issue of the scoring system, not very many people know how to set it up and use it. I was starting to learn, but have forgot a lot since
being away for over a year. More contests puts more work for those limited members who have been tasked with transporting, setting up, running, trouble shooting and breaking down the system. I am all for the championship series and points, but that is not
why I participate. I would sure like the championship contest to move around and not be in Medford every year, it is double points, not fair to us "easterners". Yes, travel is a significant issue for us here in D8, I thought we had a nice balance in the
past years with the number of contests. In regards to a contest in Boise, I am now on the board of the club here and can discuss it with them. We will need to discuss specifically the responsibilities of the club and those of the CD.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Bob, my desire to have more contests within the district is to boost participation by reducing the travel requirements. IMO adding contests but requiring 5/8 participation to win a championship defeats that purpose. You say that the championship
is the incentive but I am questioning how many people are going to be able to afford 5 contests next year. Incentive gone for those guys.I'm basing this on my IMAC days. Within the district we averaged the same 8 contests but based the championship on the
best 3 contests plus the championship contest. Does NSRCA require a certain number or is each district able to set their own numbers? Point is that if we want to increase participation we may need to get a bit creative here. As someone relitivly new to pattern
and new to District 8 I see those who have been involved for a long period of time but very few " newbies ". <br>

no issue with the best 5 out of 8. Unfortunately I think that within the district ( the country really ) there will be those who have been financially hit hard and will not have recovered for the 2021 season. In spite of this they may feel the need to attend
some contests however to have any hopes of a championship would have to attend 5 contests. IMO the championship needs to be based on who is the better pilot and not who is able to drop $3,000 in travel expenses throughout the season.<o:p></o:p></p>

<u>tentative</u> schedule we agreed that the District Championship should be more centrally located to accommodate our pilots. We hope to schedule contests so that there will be at least a two week interval between events. We propose offering new locations
for contests and slightly increasing the number of contests. Within this framework we propose that in selecting District Champions the scoring will be based on the five best scores achieved over the season. Hopefully this will permit pilots to set their contest
itineraries for more convenient travel. Of course, this does restrict pilots from going to all events if they choose. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
