Like you have always told me, all I can do is make pattern accessible. Today's event kind of reminded everybody we had a pattern contest at our field last May. FYI: eight contestants loosely represents 10 percent of our membership. Since less than 50 percent of our membership are active fliers, I say we did real good. Best memory of the day is a self proclaimed "Old Fart" beat everybody rather convincingly. Second place was won by a guy with a profile fun fly airplane and Nathan took third with his electric chaos. I used regular - non flying - club members as judges, even they had a good time.<BR><BR><BR><BR>

<DIV class=ecxim><BR><BR>Still waiting for pictures. But I had 8 BARKS members enter our first <B>Fun "Pattern" Fly</B> today. Every one of the contestants said they - schedule permitting - will enter our real pattern contest next May! I consider that a win. Other than 2 Chaos' there where no other pattern airplanes entered. After flying everybody agreed you don't need a pattern airplane to fly sportsman; but now everybody wants a pattern plane! All agreed this type of event should become one of our monthly fun flys every year. My current thinking is to turn it into a April pattern primer sort of thing before our contest.<BR><BR></DIV>Most importantly, After acting as CD, Score keep er and chief bottle washer today. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the people that run our D8 contests. Actually I was glad I didn't fly because I was really busy all day.
