I've been in contact with Jeff Bellinger, the president of the Wenatchee
club...
We can have a contest at their site anywhere from late May to early June.
June 13-14 is scheduled for Molalla. That leaves Late May or the first
weekend in
June.
Ok, here's the lowdown on using their site. Since this contest would not
be a Wenatchee
club activity, we would have to pay a rental fee for the use of their
site. The fee for two days
is $300. That means we would have to get enough flyers to not only pay
that fee, but pay
for awards, scoring costs, etc.... Which brings the total to around
$350. As long as we have
enough entries, this wouldn't be a problem. You do the math... it
would take around $25 for entry
for 15 pilots to pay for the fee. I'd hate to get into the situation that
we schedule a contest there
then only have 8 pilots show up. I need a consensus of what all of you
want to do. This is a very
nice flying site and Jeff tells me that he and a few of the club members want
to fly in this contest.
He plans on getting his CD license. Then he could hold the contest at
that site and it would be a club
activity and the site use fee would be waved. Jeff also indicated that
the club would like to keep holding
contests there for years to come. This is somewhat like what has happened
at Redmond. We held one
contest there and was immediately invited to continue with contests
there. This could be a good thing.
As you may or may not know, we have lost our normally first contest at Sumner,
Wa. They have lost use
of that flying site. This is a good opportunity to get another
contest. However, we need to support
this idea if it is to work.
The wenatchee site has RV sites available for $15/day, including water and
power.
Dry camping is available for $5/day
Send me your thoughts and we'll see what everyone wants to do... Also, we
need to decide on
which weekend to hold the contest.
Thanks
> > Well glad to see someone from Seattle area back in the game. The<span

> > Option
> > 120 should be a good plane for you, since I was beat in every contest
> > this year by someone flying one. Of course, pilot skill sure helped
> > Mr.
> > Hiller also.
> >> Merry Christmas to all. I took some extra time off to extend the
> >> usual Boeing Christmas vacation period so I could work on
airplanes,
> >> but it is so blasted cold, I can't work in my shop in the garage
> >> without getting hypothermia. I swear if I cut my self with an
Xacto
> >> #11 blade right now, I wouldn't loose a drop of blood because it<span

> >> would
> >> freeze up before it started flowing !! I'm working on two Option
> >> 120's right now (one for me and one for my brother) and I also
have a
> >> Divo bipe foamie with all needed electronic goodies, just not yet
> >> assembled. I'm looking forward to next season. I'm gunning to
> >> climb out of the cellar of the Sportsman class and with a good
> >> airplane and alot more practice hopefully my 2009 goal will be
> >> achieved. Somebody in Seattle has to finish better than last
place
> >> in something (i.e. Husky football team, Seattle Mariners, Seattle
> >> Seahawks, former Seattle Sonics).
I now
> >>> the
> >>> spacers are probably a little shorter than what is shown on
the
> >>> drawing. The
> >>> grommets need to be pinched a little to prevent any relative<span
