Hi Tim,
looking forward to seeing you at a contest next season!!! Where are you located/what is your home field?
NSRCA D8 has about 30 pilots, but most of this year's contest only had 10-15 participants. The following link to D8's "Current Standings" shows how many pilots each contest had this year. Some of the factors that I think are contributing the low turnout at contests: Covid, high gas prices, high hotel prices, and lack of younger pilots 😌!
Again, I hope that we can welcome you to D8 as a contest pilot next year!

How many pilots does D8 currently have?    And that actually attend meets?    I flew in meets as a beginner quite a few years ago and I’m planning on flying in some in 2023.   But I’m no spring chicken myself.    Not sure how to infuse interest by younger generations.
