I’ve tried all the above, rate switching, mode switching and I invariably forget to flip the switch. I’m in Jim’s camp now. After several flights on a new airplane I put in enough exponential to get a satisfactory snap and go with it. One change recently was to switch out any mixing when setting up for landing. I even forget that sometimes. I would use whatever your most comfortable with, Switching versus expo.
