Steve,

It's looking pretty good that we will have a North Idaho contest this year.
I don't know of any current pattern guys in Montana. The cool thing is we
are integrating classic pattern into our contest this year to help bring
back some of the old time guys and just have fun so this may have some
attraction to the boys from Montana. I can check to the powers to be what
the availability of Montana NSRCA members. The problem is, the old time
pattern guys are not likely members of NSRCA. The best way to get the word
out is to canvas at the club level.

Hummm-- I wonder how we could get exposure to Montana pattern flyers? Many
years ago Montana had some hot pattern flyers. They kinda attrition'ed out,
and the west coast meets were too far for them. They might like a Idaho
panhandle contest. Short hop really. Montana is in our NSRCA district.

Maybe the the NSRCA website/data guys could give us a list of members with
contact info. Just a thought.....

In Arizona and yes I brought a pattern plane, seaplane, sport flyer and to
'copters

Jim,

Good deal. Gordon can put a link to the flyer on the D8 site if they have it
on a web site. Let me know the particulars when you get them.

Thanks,

Pat

I talked to Tim this morning and he plans to put in the sanction for the
contest today and will have a flier soon and will send it to all area clubs

I hope all is well with the D8 boys and girls. Just a quick update. If you
haven't been to the D8 site lately, you will see Gordon has updated the main
picture and has set up the 2014 schedule. So far we have four confirmed
contest and a judging seminar set for April 26th. We are doing the judging
seminar later this year due to room scheduling issues, but more importantly,
I would like to do a two day seminar with one day at the field. I figured we
have a better shot of good weather in April plus the FAI boys will have
flown the new P schedule and have input.

Although Woodburn is confirmed, discussions are in the works to move this
event to Molalla, so maybe two Molalla contest. We all know the challenges
we have with the sun at Woodburn.

As you are likely aware Jim Hiller has been in discussions with the boys in
Idaho to possibly set up a new event. The aerial photo of the field looks
excellent and it's right across the road from a theme and water park so the
kids would enjoy the trip. Beautiful country and lots to see.

CD's please let Gordon or myself know as soon as you get your contest
confirmed.

Pat
