Jim,
Field looks great, but where is the sun? I can't make it on the weekends of Aug 2nd/3rd or the 9th and 10th, family stuff, but other than that a quick trip to Idaho is something I could commit to:)

  Jim,

The field looks like it would be exceptional for Pattern, IMAC had a contest there last year and plan to come back in 2014. My challenge is distance for most D8 flyers. For most it is going to be at least 6 to 10 hours driving time. I would certainly support it, but I think we would be hard pressed to get five to seven D8 guys to go.

  Input guys?

The Farragut state park public flying sight that we once used is a little

I've spoken to Tim McGee of the 'Silverhills R/C Fliers'
  (http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx # 5148) who is interested in
having a pattern contest. The Silverhills field is very near Silverwood Them
Park 18 mi N of CDA ID.

A map / sky view is too large to attach but the link to AMA club search
shows the field, or search 47.897384 - 116.704931 or E-mail me & I send it
  direct.

Tim has the tentative D-8 schedule & current rules. His E-mail reply
indicated that the later part of July or the first week in August works for
him. I sent him contest options, - straight TA - combination TA & Classic -
or a 1 day primer / 1 day contest (below).
Tim is a CD and could CD the event. I've explained that we use contestant
  judging and need little support.

I don't know how much interest there is in the area or what kind of venue to
suggest or if we should add another event into a somewhat loaded contest
schedule. Tim and a couple members interested in flying pattern want to host
  a contest.

I'd like to get some feedback on this but time is critical. Tim would like
to nail down a date next week.

  What do you all think?

  Jim
