Yah this one sucks. Probably need about 9 sec between the turnaround
radiuses. Need to fly slow or far out.

regarding slow rolls; I gave a lot of down grades last season because the
slow rolls were too fast. The rule books say 3 secs minimum. So make sure
your slow rolls are in fact slow!

Alan,
I was having the same problem with the 1 1/2 snap. I talked to Arch Stafford
a week or so ago and he said to try holding about 1/4 power on the 45
downline and go to low just before the snap. He also said to come out of the
elevator early. The up elevator on the last 1/2 snap pitches the plane down.
Sounds easy enough until you try it. So far, holding power seems to help
some, but I havn't been able to time the elevator.
I have flown the new Masters about fifteen to twenty times and have most of
the little stuff figured out. Here is my assessment.
2. Clover. I am doing a three count on the up line before the 2 of 4 and
after. Nice big outside loop and you need to draw a good long line before
and after the full roll (I am doing a 2 to 3 count before and after the
roll). een able to time the elevator.
3. Stall turn, full roll up, 2 of 4 down. Use all the box as you will need
it for the next maneuver. Other than that, no big deal.
4. Two slow rolls reversed. Not all that hard, but it needs to be started
really early just after the stall turn. Stall turn, short line, roll. So far
tough for me to center.
5. Half loop 2 of 4 up exit inverted. OK, here’s the trick to the next
maneuver, the figure Z. This one needs to be really, really high. Use every
bit of the box. I am doing a slow 3 count before and after the 2 of 4.
6. Figure Z. If you set it up high, it’s not all that hard to get it
centered. If it’s not set up high, you will have a short leg after the 2 of
4 and it will look ugly. I am using a 2 or 3 count past center on the first
inverted leg before the first inside loop.
7. Humpty. No issues.
8. Triangle loop, ½ rolls each leg. I am doing a 3 count after center before
the first pull, followed by a 3 count between each ½ roll. The 3 count is
keeping it nice and big.
9. Stall turn, 2 of 4 up, 4 of 4 down. Needs to be set up at the edge of the
box for the next maneuver. Draw a good long line before the 2 of 4. I am
doing a 3 count before and after the 2 of 4. After the stall turn, draw a
short line and come into the 4 of 4 quick.
10. Top hat. Short line after the stall turn and come into it early. 2 of 4
on up line….first quarter turn towards pilot (canopy)…it looks better. Snap
out…it looks better. 2 of 4 down…first quarter turn toward pilot (canopy)…it
looks better.
11. Humpty, ¾ turn up. Not hard, just have to remember which way to roll.
12. Eight sided loop. No big deal, but can get real ugly, real fast.
13. Full roll, half outside loop. Keep the loop nice and big for the Cuban
and the next two turn around’s.
14. Reverse Cuban eight 1 ½ snap, 4 of 8. Carry power on the 45 before the
snap and get out of the elevator fast. Easier said than done. This will help
to hold the 45. Snap out…it looks better.
15. Figure six. No big deal unless you don’t set the Cuban up high.
16. Reverse knife edge, inverted exit. No big deal, just remember which way
to roll for the inverted.
17. ¾ Figure 8. Needs to be set up high (maneuver 13). Needs to end high for
the spin.
18 2 ½ spin, 2 of 4 out. All about timing.

Well, I got a chance to fly through the new sequence on Friday. I didn't
have a chance to fly through it from start to finish, I didn't have a caller
and I couldn't remember the whole sequnce. I think it's going to be a fun
one.  A couple of observations that I had;
The cuban 8 with a snap and a half isn't as bad as I had
imagined it to be, I only flew it twice but I think it will be a doable
maneuver. I found the biggest obstacle is going to be the exit heading
after the snap, I ended up going from a 45 down to about a 65 down.
I really wasn't thrilled with the notion of the stall
turn 2 of 4 up, 4 point down. In reallity, it isn't bad as long as the up
line roll portions are started well into the up line to allow centering and
altitude for the 4 point down.
The figure Z is a bit tougher to center than I thought
it would be. I judged about 500 of the things in contests and could figure
out why the roll segments weren't centered and why the bottom line was
always pulled early, now I know. It's just not as easy a maneuver as I
originaly thought it was.
It will be strange doing the reverse knife edge through
the middle of the box instead of on the floor, also rolling out inverted
will take some brainwashing, old habit of rolling back to upright will have
to corrected.

I'm figuring on selling the Miss wind, it just flies too different compared
to the Scandalous. It took a couple of gallons of fuel just to shake the
old habitual corrections/inputs that the Wind needed but the Scandalous
doesn't. I thinking around the 525-550 range for the plane minus receiver
but including 4, 6S packs. I don't want to ship but I have no issues
meeting someplace for delivery.

Later,
Alan
