Jim,

Good points! Sorry for the delay, business travel to DC this week and next week I am in Key West.
You can see all the rule proposals for 2011 here:
http://www.modelaircraft.org/events/ruleproposals/rcaerobatics.aspx
And you can see the results of the vote here:
http://www.modelaircraft.org/events/ruleproposals.aspx

I will try and summarize this data in a document.

I did ask about the 2009 test and key that are posted regarding there use at 2011 seminars, I expect this is what is being used but I will advise as soon as I learn.
I have asked a number of other pilots if they will attend and we will determination on the event based on attendance.

The AMA rules are there but It appears they no longer marks paragraphs that have been changed making it more difficult to casually scan the document when refreshing ones memory.
> As I remember there were some cleanup changes and of course the ever present snap roll clarification. Most notable was radius judging where the first R in a maneuver having multiple R elements doesn't set the judging criteria. As I understand it, each R is to be judged as they deviate from the previous, each and every time.

At this point I am trying to gain input from you all as to who would attend to see if its worth holding the session. Gary is willing and has worked with Ray to secure a location (thanks guys!) so we can pull this off but it does not sound like those of you who have responded would attend, let me know if I am wrong. I will reach out to some of the other pilots via email and see if we can get enough attendance to justify the effort.

The thing I like about the sessions is the open discussions and group interaction, this is missing in the online model. I am not sure how big a block of time we could get on Saturday night or where to hold the discussion? any ideas?

If nobody from outside the club enters, I will just have club members judge, but I really don't want to screw up somebody who has traveled to our contest. I also expect as the rounds progress sportsman participation will drop off. Again, if its only club members I'll let them decide when to call it a contest. Last August we flew three rounds and called it a day. Another idea is to run two classes of sportsman, fun seekers and points seekers. Using real judges for the points seekers and club member judges for the fun seekers. FYI Tim: If the weather doesn't improve for practicing I'm going to be flying Sportsman.
