next K-Factor article. I believe that it speaks for itself but to clarify I
want to mention a few points. It is up to each CD to run their contest as
they see fit within the AMA rules. I am trying to provide guidance so that
contests across our district are being run as similarly as possible. If a CD
decides to only fly P that is within their rights. I ask that each CD publish
in the contest flyer what the plans are for the contest in regards to FAI. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>Last month I discussed a potential issue that I foresee in
our district with declining participation in FAI and rapidly increasing Masters
numbers. I brought up a few ideas and requested feedback. Boy did I get feedback!
We had a lot of e-mail and discussion list exchanges about the issues and
several potential solutions. We also discussed it at the AMA Expo booth with
many pilots who stopped by and at the NSRCA D7 meeting that we held at the Expo
on Saturday. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>The end result of all of this feedback is that I am going to
recommend to the CDs of our district that they run FAI the same as last year.
Fly 4 rounds of P and two of F and count the best 4 out of 6 rounds. The
district championships will fly 4 rounds of P counting the best 3 out of 4 and
2 rounds of F counting the best 1 out of 2. This is the way we did it last year
and we will try it that way again. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

where we will have a disproportionate number of Masters fliers. I am working to
come up with possible plans to lessen the impact and will make them available
as the plans come together. I think it is better to be prepared with at least a
plan than to be surprised on a Saturday morning!<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
