Subject: [NSRCA-dist7] 2023 Woodward Memorial Pattern Contest at OCMA

Hi Everyone,

We are looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend at the Woodward
Memorial Pattern Contest at OCMA. The field and surrounding hills are very
green so it will be a beautiful flying weekend.

Here are some updates and notes for you all

   1. Please pre-register if you are planning to attend.
   2. AMA and FAA registration are required. Be prepared to show your FAA
registration and proof of AMA membership.
   3. There is no power at the field so bring a generator or power source
if you need to recharge batteries
   4. There is no shade at the field so bring an EZ Up if you like.
   5. The gate will be open by noon on Friday and we will have control of
the field for practice flying. There's a chance the gate will be open
sooner but club members will be flying until noon.
   6. The field has withstood the recent heavy rains but there is some
runoff water on the entry road and some small amount of mud/silt. It's
nothing to worry about, the road is fully intact and any layer of water or
   mud is pretty thin.
   7. If you plan on camping at the field overnight then please email me.
I have 4 people so far who indicated they will be staying at the field
(I'll send you 4 an email with details on entry/exit after hours). We can
accomodate 5 trailers or full size RV's. If you are parking a trailer at
the field then please park at the west end away from the pits. We'll help
   direct you when you arrive.
   8. No Smoking at the field, you can smoke outside the gate.
   9. Bring a small fire extinguisher if you have one. We need to have
them visible in the pits per OC Fire Authority regs.
   10. All Proceeds will go to Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC)
   11. Lunch will be available for no fee, however, we'd appreciate a small
   donation for CHOC
   12. Pilots meeting will be 8:30am Saturday morning. Flying will begin
as soon as the sun cooperates. If it's overcast we'll start right away.

See you all there!
Steve Hannah
