Hey Guys, (please pass to others that may not be on the D7 list)

****** LUKE - Will there be any charge for this??? I do not know - sc

I'm sure most know we have the Hollister contest (Sept 13th - 14th).. hosted
by Mr. Carter.. #13 as we now call him.. then we have the 3rd, and final
Training day, Sept 27th at the San Jose Tomcats... this is where Luke holds
his contest.

To Review, in Napa, we spent a fair amount of time on plane set-up and
flying non-sequence rectangles, 45 lines, and some actual sequence flying.
This time was spend on 'wings level' practice. In Sacramento, it was "fly if
you want", let us know what help you need.

Here is the format for the 3rd session.

1 - Derek will make himself available for anyone who has plane set-up
questions
2 - Come READY TO FLY...
    - as pilots arrive, they will be given a number, this is the flight
order. Perhaps 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B... and so on, the A flight line is on the
left, the B flight line is on the right. You will be paired with either
Scott C, Don A, Jon C, or Derek K. This will be your helper for flight #1.
If you fly 2nd, you best be ready with your 'caller' for your flight. We
will fly 2 flight lines, just like a contest. Even numbers on one side, odd
numbers on the other side.
    - I really want to keep things moving.. if you miss your turn, go to the
end of the line.. but don't miss your turn. You are there to fly.
    - More than likely, you will fly a few maneuvers in your sequence, then
do them again, until they look 'good' - then move to the 2nd few maneuvers.
Doing it wrong is not learning.. so don't plan to fly the complete sequence
at once. You will not learn anything.

OK, let's run through it once..

Pilot 1 arrives, he's given a number.. and so on.

Let's say Scott and Don are on the left line, to help the pilots. Don takes
pilot 1, Scott is waiting for pilot #2, who is filling his tank and taking
his plane to the flight-line. On the right line, Jon is helping pilot #1,
Derek is ready with pilot #2 on that line. When the pilot flying lands, the
next pilot takes off. Pilot 1 may only be flying 2-3-4 maneuvers, over and
over, until it gets better, or they at least understand what needs work.
Pilot 2 may fly only 2 maneuvers.. entering the box with wings level, the
right distance, the right airspeed... and this is done over and over.

Pilot 2 on the right line takes off (with Derek), pilot 3 gets gets Jon, and
gets ready for his flight. Same with the other flight line.

If anyone has comments, let me know.. but let's make this a very productive
session - for YOU!

I hope, near the end of the day, each of you will judge the 4 helpers...
actually scoring the flight. This will help the pilot and give you more
judging practice with what you have been told during the day.

I am not planning any food.. so bring your own.. this may change, but as of
now, bring whatever you want for lunch. I'd like to run this from 9am -
2pm.. and times car vary.

Scott
