I myself can't justify attending a contest anymore. Wages lost plus gas, food and lodging and we are talking about over $1000 easily... and for a $20 plaque with my picture in it... not worth it anymore. On top of that I have no more pattern planes. They all burned up on a house fire. </div><div id="AppleMailSignature">Now I've been flying "evil" drones in competition. I can stuff all up in a suitcase and travel easily. Plus there is cash prizes at all large contests. Last one I competed the first place winner got $4000 and I was 4th due to a mid air which resulted in a broke.n prop... Jon L. will try another contest in Sept. i guess, but i wouldn't put on one either if only 5-8 folks sign up. Just seems a shame. After the NATs everyone in D-3 retreats and theres little activity or intrest. Looks to me the NATs needs to be late in the year and not mid year, if this trend continues.
