[NSRCA-dist1] NSRCA D1 Status

I inquired with a few key folks within D1. Here is a summary.

My personal situation, other than recovering from surgery to remove a
hidden skin infection that occurred in February, is as follows. My
primary pattern flying site is temporarily closed, related to FAA issues
being worked in conjunction with the less than 2-mile local military
base , not related to Covid-19.  The second club I belong to has 2 sites
that may be open, but we are in a state-wide mandate to stay home (with
few exceptional reasons to leave, that does not include recreational
outing)  This has resulted in cancelling my contest planned for May
16th.  In 2020, I only achieved 3 trim-flights on a repaired Olympus
1400 model in early January, and it obviously needs significantly more
trimming, with a strong possibility that it may no longer be a
competitive model. I've also had some indoor sport flying, and one
evening of a handful of F3P indoor flights as well.

Summary from other D1 members.  New Jersey and New York both have
stay-home to the maximum extent possible, with the exception of buying
food, medicine, work-exceptions/exemptions, etc.  Some flying sites may
be close and some are definitely closed due to Corvid-19. Some folks had
some indoor sport-flying opportunities.  Some pilots getting simulator
time, which is a regular activity for me for many years.  D1 contests
are still scheduled (except for the May 16th one, which I already
mentioned), but uncertain if need to cancel ones to be held in June,
July, and August.  Some pilots managed to get some practice flights
earlier in March, but are now more reluctant to even to that as the
Corvid-9 virus is hitting hard locally.  My house is now surrounded by
local neighborhood and adjacent town cases.
