[NSRCA-dist1] Judging Clinic

Anthony,

I think judging REAL flights under semi-controlled conditions would be a big
help to a lot of us. After each flight, everyone compares their scores. I
think you would be VERY surprised at what you see.

That is an interesting idea. This was done every rules cycle before the
online tests became available. Who would be willing to come judging clinic?
Maybe watch the AMA judging video (old, slightly boring, but packed with
good info), discussion and then maybe some flying and critique. Of course
some pizzas and good BS in between. D2 does this each year and it has been
pretty popular.

Thank you Anthony for volunteering for the DVP office. D1 is fortunate to
have you advocating for our concerns on the BoD.

I think our membership, and more importantly the local club members who
support our contests, could benefit greatly from an early season Judging
Clinic. This might fit in between the WRAM show meeting and the first
contests of the season. Would be an opportunity to look at the new
sequences together and see how to judge them. It is also an opportunity to
introduce newcomers with a interest in pattern to contestant judging; and to
further educate some of our non contestant club judges who are interested
enough to join us for a half day of pizza and fun discussing correct
deductions (a little give and take LOL)! The AGS and LVRCS contests have
made good use of volunteer club judges in recent seasons, so perhaps either
of our clubs might want to host a clinic for D1?

Cheers!

Dana

Thanks, Gary. It will be an interesting adventure! Any ideas you have to
improve the district or for articles please don't hesitate to let me know. I
would like to try to get some contests in the North East area. Do you know
of any appropriate sites?

We missed you at AGS. John Ford came with his Contra Episode and made it
look pretty good. He is in upstate NY and would be a good contact for help
with set up. How are you making out with it?
