[NSRCA-dist1] D1 at the NATs

I think demo flights are best left for the primers. 5 flights and general
discussion will add an hour.compared to 2 flights lines running where12
flights should easily be accomplished.

Aside from the time, having demo flights before a contest could produce a
number of unwanted effects -

- setting a style/bias for the judges

- giving competitors a chance to practice

Should a potential judge not be familiar with the sequence they are asked to
judge, I'd hope they could be scheduled to not judge the 1st round, and take
the time to observe the 1st round to be prepared to judge later rounds.

Regards,

Dave

There was something we did a few times at primers and I think it helps is
for someone to do a demo flight of the sequence for judging purposes at a
contest. Sometimes it is good for the judges and the people who will be
flying the sequence to see the flight before judging takes place. I realize
this probably does not help the FAI pilots but it would the judges. It seems
it would only add five flights with some general discussion before the
contest starts. Just a thought. JEZ
