[NSRCA-dist1] FAI

Scott:

The problem with the Aresti in the M is most likely due to not using Alan
Cassidy's software to generate the sequence. It actually should show a
dashed line for the 1st half, then a solid line for the 2nd half.

I don't like the optional part.too Obamaesk. Four rounds of P followed by
two rounds of F (whatever day they may fall on.)

If a pilot elects to fly P for the last two rounds, score it for the tear
sheets as a courtesy, but its zeros in the computer .it probably won't
change the outcome.

(this of course assumes they still have a plane after four attempts of the
Figure M .and nine snaps in F, what's up with that?!)

Speaking of the M, does it matter which way you roll after the first stall
turn? Do you have to start the half loop with a push?

Aresti is misleading as its shows negative throughout the half loop which
isn't possible with the half roll.

2nd attempt to send...1st time I included the Canadian contingent and
CDs...and the email was snagged for "addressed to too many recipients"..so
if this attempt makes it through, I will then forward it to the additional
addressees.

Hello All,

2009 saw some experimenting at a couple contests for FAI - basically flying
4 rounds of P0-9 on Saturday, and an option to fly 2 rounds of F-09 on
Sunday. The intent was to better prepare D1 pilots (and potential judges)
for the finals sequence at the NATs semifinals and finals.

I'd like to propose the following -

- For the balance of 2009, FAI flies the P-11 sequence Saturday and Sunday
(some other Districts are already doing this)

- For 2010, FAI flies P-11 4 rounds Saturday, and then optionally 2 round
F-11 on Sunday.

The optional F rounds on Sunday are intended to be an opportunity to
try/practice F for the FAI pilots that choose to do so. Any FAI pilots that
wish to stay with the P-11 can do so. All scores will be recorded on P-11
sheets to keep logistics simple. Pilots choosing to fly the F will be at a
bit of a disadvantage to pilots sticking with the P, as the F is 70K while
the P is 60K. From the experience in 2009, this is not likely to have an
outcome on the placings.

Yea's?? Nea's?? Questions, comments?

Regards,
