numbers, around the early nineties, from memory. I always received my FAI sporting licence along with my Club Memberships/MAAA card from around then. I know we have insurance cover, but I think this coverage is provided by the MAAA.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

planes are not capable of carrying enough destructive material to do serious damage to any buildings or anything. Also, the few rogue drone pilots, who have no common sense at all, lead to punishing all us R/C pilots for their stupidity of flying their wallmart
drones up near airliners. Or, the FAA employee who crashed his drone on the White House lawn in the wee small hours. The FAA will come after US, but they didn't punish that employee AT ALL for his
<strong><span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">stupidity</span></strong>. They even keep his stupidity hired @ the FAA!!!

I would like to inform you about a Plenary decision which has been published since 2020 and may cause some confusion.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span class="fontstyle0"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">C.11 IDENTIFICATION MARKS</span></span><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black"><br>
<span class="fontstyle0">C.11.1 Class F - Model Aircraft</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle2">a) Model aircraft, except for Indoor Free Flight and Scale, shall carry:</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle2">i) The </span><strong><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">national identification mark followed by the FAI Unique ID number</span></strong><span class="fontstyle2">. The letters and numbers</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle2">must be at least 25 mm high and appear at least once on each model (on the upper surface of</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle2">a wing for Free Flight models).</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle3">Note: The list of the national identification marks (3 letters per country) is downloadable from</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle3">“Documents” section of the CIAM website <a href="http://www.fai.org/ciam-documents" target="_blank">
http://www.fai.org/ciam-documents</a>.</span><br>
<span class="fontstyle3">Note: The mandatory carrying of the FAI ID number shall commence in 2022.</span></span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">During the last years competitors could use National Licence number or FAI ID. From 2022 the unique FAI ID is mandatory. Pilots
need to display Country Code and FAI ID on their planes, if they want to take part in an FAI competition.
<br>
National licence number caused a lot of confusion because there sometimes were competitors who had more than one.
<strong><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The FAI ID is unique. </span>
</strong>Whenever anybody had one, he will have it forever, even if the licence isn't valid.
<br>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">From 2022
<strong><u><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">GER 19233</span></u></strong> is necessary.
<strong><u><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Country Code+FAI ID. </span>
</u></strong></span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">May be the NACs will demand to have national numbers on the model for national competitions. But everbody who normally has
received an FAI License, has received it via his national federation. So in my opinion the FAI ID may be sufficient for national competitions, too. But this is on behalf of the NACs not to complicate the case. They should use the FAI card above fro printouts.
On some licenses issued by some NACs important FAI ID is missing. This should be changed.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Organizers should accept only FAI ID for registration. With an excel file with only these numbers, the FAI Jury can check the
validity in very easy way without entering each name into the database.<br>

Please inform the competition pilots and the organizers in your countries to avoid problems at FAI competitions!<br>
