<div>Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] Neu Gearbox Grease Technique </div>
<div><br>
</div>
</div>
<div>Hi All,
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">Just wondering if anyone has any advice about mow much grease I should pack into the Neu gearbox when I do the re-grease?</div>
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">A few weeks ago I did what I now realize was a light pack of grease. I felt like the gearbox was getting more and more rough over the last couple of flights, so I decided to do another re-grease last night. When I took it apart, it was clear
that there was not enough in there from the previous time, so I decided to use quite a bit more grease this time.</div>
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">After completing it, the gearbox was much smoother when turning the prop by hand so I felt good about it. Then, after the first flight today, the gearbox went back to the more rough feeling gear train when spinning by hand. Is this normal, or
should I expect the gear train to feel more smooth for a longer period after greasing? Trying to gage how much grease I should be using each time. </div>
<div dir="auto"><br>
</div>
<div dir="auto">Also, is there a sound or feel that would identify that I need to re-grease? Or is it just best to stick with <span style="font-family:sans-serif">proactively greasing every 30 flights or so?</span></div>
<div dir="auto"><span style="font-family:sans-serif"><br>
</span></div>
<div dir="auto">Thanks,</div>
