<div dir="ltr">Hey Monte,<div><br></div><div>You are correct... the bottom of a regular Figure M must be inverted but that isn't what Don's question is about and it isn't called a Figure M either - it is a double stall turn. At the bottom of the half loop in the Double Stall Turn there is a 1/2 roll integrated and direction is not specified - that is actually a KE half loop in the F3P sequence. Don's other question also related to the trombone which is also done at KE and again, the integrated 1/2 roll direction in the 1/2 loop (KE) is not specified. Don's 3rd question is in the horizontal square where KE 1/4 loops are in KE as well and all those there is a 1/2 roll integrated in those loops and those are not specified as to the direction.</div><div><br></div><div>Best,</div><div>-Derek</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, May 2, 2021 at 8:56 AM Monte Richard <<a href="mailto:mrichard@compassengineering.com">mrichard@compassengineering.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">

<div>Isn’t the bottom of a figure M always inverted? So in that case the roll has to be set based on being inverted on the bottom of the figure M.<br>

AF21.11, 12 and 9. Roll direction in rolling loop and corners segments optional? Is the roll at the bottom of the Figure M need to show inverted at the bottom or optional upright? Corners of horizontal square inside, outside or optional? Top of trombone?
No roll directions or orientation stated in maneuver descriptions so it appears the roll directions are all optional.
