The NSCRA by-laws are NOT specific about any of these standards. There is no requirement that the ballots be private, and the tally by a 3<sup>rd</sup> party is a “should”, not a “shall”, and communication of election data is not tied to a particular step in the election process. At the very most, this may be a reason for the next BOD to review the election process in the by-laws. </p><p class=MsoNormal>There are plenty of non-profit organizations that hold elections in many ways, spanning from “show of hands”, all the way to extreme application of Robert’s Rules of Order. It doesn’t mean that the “show of hands” clubs are unethical, even though such elections are soaked in peer pressure and social awkwardness…it’s in their by-laws, and that’s how they do it. It is what it is. </p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>We are somewhere closer to the “show of hands” end, it seems.
