No one got more than a few flights a week because of the extensive amount of maintenance and repair required to keep them going. Planes didn't last long either. Something was always failing causing loss of aircraft. I knew some of these pilots and they were amazing flyers.

All these oldie remembrances got me to thinking about old contests I have attended. I went to a Detroit Invitational back in the day, but cannot for the life of me, remember where it was held (please don’t say Detroit).
I remember seeing Tom Brett and probably saw Ed Kazmirski, Ron Chidgey and Phil Kraft (the years have blurred who, when and where).
Any help out there?
