For me, the lightest, cheapest, strongest, and easiest to make servo tray has always been 1/8” balsa, laminated with 1/64” ply on both sides, with small 1/32” ply doublers where the servo screws go. It’s 2 minutes to laminate a piece of balsa with thick CA
and hand pressure. never splits, easy to cut and shape, torsionally strong and stable, extremely light and very very inexpensive.
