<html><body><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000"><div>OK, since my personal information related to my top-level DOE security clearance is now in the hands of the chinese, I went on line to register for ID theft protection. First, I had to enter a twenty-five (25) digit PIN code! Then I had to enter the last 4 digits of my SSN. After I filled in all the rest of the information (which they and the chinese already have!), I got a THL-2, or something, error code, and a phone number to call, along with a message saying, "We cannot process your application at this time.".<br></div><div><br></div><div>So, I called the number, and after several steps (with associated promo messages) through the telephone tree, I had the privilege of speaking with "Heidi". I told her what the error code was, and her first question was, "What browser are you using? Is it IE?" I said, "No, it is Firefox, should I switch to IE?" The answer was, "No, IE has problems and errors with our site." <strong>They can't build a site that works with IE???????</strong> She suggested I use Chrome. When I said I don't have Chrome on my PC, she connected me to a "registration specialist" named "Jodi" to help me register.<br></div><div><br></div><div>When I gave Jodi the error code, she said, "You cannot use any punctuation in your entries." So I hung up, removed a period in my name, and got registered.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Why can't the site just say, "No punctuation is allowed"? I guess that would deprive at least 2 people (Heidi and Jodi) of their cushy, over-paid government jobs.<br></div><div><br></div><div>The site definitely gets an "i d ten t" error from me!!!!<br></div><div><br></div><div>After we are registered with the faa, that site will be hacked and we can all do this again for this new data set.
