That could certainly be a positive aspect for the whole lot of us who own and enjoy flying RC models. While I am certainly glad that AMA is advocating for us with Uncle Sam, I am not categorically opposed to receiving helpful information from other sources that helps (there’s that word again) us ALL fly safely.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I also get that the AMA is asking us to hold off on registration, to wait while they regroup. This begs the question “do I (we) really want the AMA (or any organization) to register me (us) with the FAA as a drone owner? On the one hand, we can see this as the AMA providing a membership service, a convenience for us if they are able to connect with this registration process that is rolling out against their advice: On the other hand, if AMA is able to register you with the FAA using your AMA number, do you lose the opportunity to opt out, if you were so inclined to not go along with registration in the first place? An individual decision for each one of us, or are we just now part of the intellectual property of AARP for the general purposes of AARP? LOL</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">For me, today, I am 100% in favor of AMA advocating for us as aeromodelers; I am not so sure that I want any organization to register me on my behalf.
