<div class="">We have recently taken an active approach at helping those learning to fly at our local field and can report on our experiences and initial results. We include straight flight out and back, centered loops and rolls as well as hints on nailing the landing on the center line are include in our instruction. This leads to suggestions for a good beginner pattern plane and encouragement to come out and fly Sportsman when ready. Apparently it has started to work, since I heard a couple guys flew foam 72 inch plane at a recent local pattern contest. We have also vowed to help D2 flyers as much as we can this fall- its the least we can to do give back to D2 and other pattern flyers. Plus Joseph has some new pattern flyers his age to fly and hang out with. </div>

<div class="">I also point to Archie who has at his local club fostered a group of pattern flyers one which is now a CD and running an annual pattern contest. Ditto for JR over in Harrisonburg. </div>

<div class="">It is amazing how much depth there is to pattern. While visiting Triple Tree the other day, all the giant scale flyers there were very aware of the details of the U.S. F3A team finish as well as the team details in South Africa.</div>
