If you go to jetimodel.com the weight of the spin99 is listed as
110 grams and at esprit it is listed as 100 grams. The OS is listed
at 124 grams. If the 110 grams is true, the 15 grams does not seem
like a showstopper.
I believe both the OS and the Jeti require a proprietary controller
with no usb connection(for now).
While the price of the jeti is $50 more at $230, you can probably do
even better on the OS than $180 depending on the discounts you can
get from Tower.
I'm using the OS and have been very happy with it and the program
box. Definitely appreciate the improvement in brake range. The
first few times you hook up a flight battery is disconcerting
without the "snap".

I am trying to figure out the best ESC to use for
my new project. I have been a Castle guy since my introduction
several years ago to electric. I believe at this point, my best
choice is the Jeti Spin 99 Pro mainly due to weight at 100g vs.
the other 100A ESCs out there. I looked at the OS1100 and of
course the Castle ESC but they are heavier. I have been told
good things about the Jeti and the smoothness as well as the
braking. Really, I have two questions: 1. Is there a lighter
100A+ ESC that is of good quality? 2. How do these get
programmed? It appears there is a little programmer called the
Jeti Spin Mini Programmer but can you also use some sort of PC
program to program these like the Castle?
