<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2 face=Arial>Phil, the 140L is a great engine once
you tame it, We tried several things and they still kick back--more power than
the 140S, and close to the DZ. Finally thought it out, talked to YS about their
compression, and came to the idea of adding another head shim to ease it up a
bit. Worked great, told the YS folks and they tried it and got the same result.
If you find a 140L at a good price all it will cost is another head shim for a
much smoother runner,</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><BR></DIV>First I want to wish all my Christian friends a Happy Easter,
today! For my Jewish friends, you are starting Passover today, which is
what brought Christ to the city for that celebration. After all of us
attended Sunrise Service to celebrate this Day, I hope you all collected lots
of colorful hard-boiled Fertility Symbols to further celebrate the Day.
(lol)<BR><BR>There have been several offers for a YS 140 to purchase. I
WILL buy one (or two) this week, but I need some education, being a long-time
OS/SPA guy. What are the differences between the 140 S, the 140 L, and
the 140 DZ, not so much on horsepower, but in terms of reliability and
maintenance. I will be doing most of my flying @ 900-1000 ASL, just as
QQ mentioned in his manual on the Yak-54. I have all the info on HP,
props fuel and glow plugs, just looking for info on how they run and perform
on a day-to-day basis, with a non-pipe setup.<BR><BR>Many thanks...<BR><BR>On

being listed. I have gotten started on my 12-year-old Cermark Pitts
S2B 1/4 scale, and find that this engine would be just what the doctor
ordered. Are these engines still available? Or does someone have
one they will part with. If so, pleae contact me outside this

outside Gainesville, FL, across Archer Road from Stengle Field, a grass
airstrip owned by Carl Stengle. During that time, Curtis Pitts teamed
up with Carl and his flying school, and was flying a little red biplane out
of Stengle field. I used to go out and watch him toss that plane all
over the sky, little knowing what Curtis would become. I have been in
touch with Stengle's son, and he confirmed that the pilot was, indeed Curtis
Pitts. I have been back to Gainesville, and there is a Steak &
Shake where our house was, and a strip mall in place of the airfield.
Ah, progress. ;-{(<BR><BR>So I am in the process of re-creating one of
