<DIV> I'm far from an expert on Lipo's but I'm on my 5th year of
flying E. pattern so I guess I can tell you from experience. During that
time I've had some success and a whole lot of failures with
Lipo's.</DIV>
<DIV> I had decent success with Zippy 15C's but they pale in
comparison to what I've been getting from the Power Unlimited's so far
this season. I run a pretty aggressive power setup with the AXI 5330 F3A
and I'm pulling about 80amps and over 3000 watst WOT. With a full long
Masters sequence flying on the fast and large side I need a lipo that
can deliver. So far the PUXFU 4900's 20C have been the best. I have 50
cycles and they are showing IR #'s in the high 1's across the packs. I
pull about 4000mils on a competition flight in a moderate wind but I've
had oppseee flights were I've dragged out up to 4400 twice at the Nats.
They took it without a hitch.</DIV>
<DIV> I can't find anything else that has the light weight with the
C rating I need at the lower cost of the PUXFU packs.</DIV>
<DIV> Batteries that have performed well are also the Rhino 4900
20C but they are too heavy for a legal weigh in for my plane. Some of
the top brand name packs I owned had problems but I will
say that the" top brand" has excellent customer service and they always
stood behind their stuff. But they were really pricy too. Notice I
didn't mention the brand.<BR> I've come to the conclusion that
power out of the motor is directly equal to what your taking out of the
lipo's on a given flight. If someone tells you they are getting thru the
masters pattern with 3000 mils or less they are most likely flying a
conservative pattern.</DIV>
<DIV> I watched a lot of flying at the Nats and many of the top
performers were consuming more than the 80% of capacity in their packs.
Then factor in the high heat that the summers bring and it becomes even
more important the you have a mil rating of 20 or more for a wide open
aggressive pattern.</DIV>
<DIV> I have an experimental 25C PUXFU pack that weighs less than
42 ounces that has a similar if not better performance so far.</DIV>
<DIV> Chris and I are close friends but I would never tell people
these packs weren't good if I didn't believe in them.</DIV>
